Major duties

Performs a wide variety of public service duties: circulation, reference/reader advisory, database searching, collection maintenance, programming, marketing, displays/publicity, interlibrary loans, and reserves. Performs a wide variety of systems application and maintenance which may include standard office software, basic Integrated Library System and PC management. Performs selected administrative management duties. Trains others in the performance of library technician duties, plans work and sets priorities to improve production and increase quality. Performs the full range of supervisory duties, including recommending recruitment or reassignment actions, conducts performance appraisals and submits for approval by the manager. May manage a branch library. Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: One year of work experience that equipped the applicant with practical knowledge of library or related information services, tools, and methods and procedures. Experience must have been gained at the next lower level. One year of supervisory experience required. NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application.
