Administrative Program Specialist
What you'd do
This position is an Administrative Program Specialist, GS- 0301-9 working in Point Reyes Station, California for the PW-1549-PORE. The purpose of this position is to assist the business and program office actions and serve as the specialist on housing management and administration.
Major duties
As a Administrative Program Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Provides comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient office and program operations, including managing workflows, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining records, coordinating communication, and supporting housing or facility-related processes. Provides administrative support for financial and procurement activities, including processing invoices, payments, and deposits; preparing billing actions; supporting travel processes; and assisting with purchase requests and acquisition documentation in accordance with established procedures. Provides administrative support for human resources and resource management functions, including assisting with personnel actions and timekeeping, maintaining accountability records, and supporting property, fleet, and related reporting requirements. Coordinates and administers program activities, including processing applications or requests, evaluating requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies, maintaining records, and monitoring activities to ensure conditions and requirements are met. Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing information, resolving issues, and coordinating with staff, partners, and the public to support program and operational needs.

As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1 year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-07/31/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following minimum qualifications: Minimum Qualification [GS-09] Experience: One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience analyzing administrative programs and assisting in the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures; reviewing and maintaining organizational records; and providing advice, assistance or guidance, on administrative directives and instructions - OR- Education: At least successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree Or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. - OR- Combination of education and experience: Only education in excess of the first year of graduate education is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
