What you'd do

This position is located at Fort Stewart Aquatics, Fort Stewart, GA. This is a Regular Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours and eligible for benefits. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Major duties

Serves as the Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of aquatic fitness, training and recreational programs, personnel, and classes at aquatic facilities. Manages multiple indoors and outdoors pools. Provides overall supervision of the aquatic programs. Establishes and reviews the Aquatic programs. Establishes and reviews the Aquatic Risk Management plan for all aquatic facilities. Coordinates with the MWR marketing department to publicize aquatic events. Establishes and executes processes to evaluate the effectiveness of the aquatic programs. Responsible for APF and NAF budget for assigned facilities and programs. Develops and updates the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies. Interviews and selects such staff and provides them with required orientation, training and management to meet all activity needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Possesses demonstrated experience in planning, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience. If using education in place of experience, transcripts must be uploaded at the time of application. Possesses and maintains the following certifications: -American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid -CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED -Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross) -Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross) -Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (COP) certification In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration & 02 bottles; the Oxygen Administration & 02 Administration certification (Red Cross or installation offered training) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": -Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross) -Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross) -Equipment (Safe Operations and Basic Maintenance Repairs) -Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification or Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor -Adapted Aquatics Instructor -SCUBA Diving Instructor (PADI, NAUI, YMCA or equivalent) Applicants who meet the Minimum qualifications, & Highly Preferred Criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.
