This vacancy is for a GS-0303-07, Administrative Assistant, located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Director of Operational Logistics, Base Boston, Naval Engineering Support Unit Boston, Industrial Production Facility Boston in Boston, Massachusetts.

Major duties

You will serve as an Administrative Assistant (OA) and be responsible for the full range of clerical and administrative support functions necessary to support the Naval Engineering Support Unit's (NESU) mission of providing quality maintenance, repair and logistics support for Naval Engineering Systems on assigned cutters and boats. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Serving as the central point of contact for the organization on workforce management matters and acting as a liaison to the command staff advisor/human resources specialist and SFLC Workforce Management staff. Processing timecards for assigned employees in the time and attendance system to ensure that all timecards are completed in a timely manner and forwarded to the supervisor for certification. Serving as the facility's focal point for coordinating training activities. Serving as a central resource person for implementing and maintaining office control systems, such as those for the location,arrangement, access to, and use of office files, and for maintenance, transfer, and disposition of records. Assisting in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program or project studies. Composing correspondence in accordance with oral or written instructions and locating referenced correspondence for readers. Facilitating Agency-wide communication by assuring that staff at all levels are fully informed on internal and Agency-wide procedures. Monitoring and maintaining supply and inventory utilization, and preparing requisitions for supplies and equipment and requests for service.. What you need to qualify

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Utilizing office automation software to track and update pertinent data. Utilizing office automation software to prepare a wide variety of administrative documents. Monitoring office supplies and equipment. Managing time-in-attendance for employees. Assisting with workforce management matters.
