INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER (SLCM-N MISSION PLANNING SECTION)

Major duties
You will address technical issues in the engineering, test and development phases of the system. You will coordinate and establish the scope, time, schedule and associated planning of the programs listed above and will recommend corrective action when necessary to meet requirements. You will participate in problem investigations involving integration of missile subsystems and includes evaluating changes in the interfaces with the submarine combat control room. You will evaluate system engineering, requirements management techniques, and engineering risks for strategic weapons. You will demonstrate an understanding of weapon system safety, software engineering, and mission planning by finding ensuring that all aspects of the system meet requirements as stated within the system specifications and subsystem specifications You will participate in evaluations regarding developmental testing and surveillance programs, reports from flight and ground tests, security reports, and technical engineering service studies. You will participate in budgetary submissions in accordance with SSP direction and procedures including development of budgets, preliminary budget estimates, and internal meetings with other branches within SLCMN to prioritize development work. You will continually assess the safety, performance, and reliability of the deployed subsystems.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) leading engineering and integration efforts for the development of mission planning capabilities; 2) defining and analyzing system requirements to support strategic mission planning capabilities; and 3) overseeing technical development and integration of mission planning software and architectures.
