This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-09, or GS-11 with a target grade of GS-11. The minimum salary for grade GS- 09 is $62,297, the maximum salary is $80,991. The minimum salary for grade GS-11 is $75,374, the maximum salary is $97,991.
Major duties
Advise all leadership of findings and recommendations for corrective action and coordinates with internal and external customers to improve organizational processes. Provides expert interpretation on DoD and DFAS regulatory and administrative guidelines in accordance with generally accepted principles relating to finance and accounting operations. Serves as a first line supervisor with technical and administrative supervisory responsibilities to include the oversight of subordinate staff performing work related to an assigned functional area. Manages the review of a variety of financial policies, guidelines, data, documents, and reports to determine trends that both benefit and prevent operational efficiency. Develops standard work processes to enhance detection and correction of errors, uniformity of procedures, and improvement of the organization’s productivity. The duties, described above, represent the major duties performed at the GS-11 level. The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience.
What you need to qualify
To be hired at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS 09 Specialized experience is defined as: performing financial management analysis and reporting in support of finance and accounting mission and applying knowledge of financial management principles to improve an organizations operations. To be hired at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS 11 Specialized experience is defined as: leading financial analysis operations and successfully resolving pay/entitlement challenges through expert application of financial principles, federal regulations, and established procedures. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment. If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
