Maintenance Worker Supervisor NS-07
What you'd do
This position is located at the Fort Sam Houston Army Fisher House. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Major duties
Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a day-to-day, project-by-project and on a week-to week and month-to-month basis. Investigates works related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes. Implement corrective actions to resolve work problems. Determines training needs and arranges for accomplishment of it; sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinates. Measures, cuts, constructs and/or repairs wood, composite building materials, and wood substitute items where specific fit and accuracy are required within allowable limits to produce a serviceable product. As needed, replaces worn or broken wall switches and outlets. Replaces ceiling light and/or burned out bulbs. May be required to drive vehicles up to and including a 5-ton truck to move furniture, etc., to various buildings on the installation.
What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have a working knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks. Must have knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Must have ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches. Must have skill in manipulating controls of a motor vehicle.
