Resource Management Specialist
What you'd do
As a Resource Management Specialist you are responsible for providing administrative support and performing staff analytical and evaluative duties in support to the managers of D&B. Including keeping current staffing statistics for each area and keeping staffing and organizational information up-to-date.
Major duties
The duties described are for the full-performance level. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Coordinates recruitment activities by reviewing personnel requests to determine the nature of staffing or other action required. Coordinates with appropriate Human Resources personnel to determine recruitment options and keeps the supervisors informed. Maintain full visibility over assigned team's Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) from cradle-to-grave, to coach team members on all stages of the recruitment process. Conduct studies of work processes to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in organizational structure, staffing, administrative procedures, work processes, or workload distribution. When Case Exam and Merit Promotion Certificates of Eligibles are received by Selecting Official, provides assistance on appropriate actions for making a selection. Serves as liaison between HRD and local management when filling positions. Provides employment information to walk-in, telephone, and written inquiries regarding the status of recruitments, vacancies in the organizations served, and procedures for filing applications. Coordinates the participation of local programs at college career days, outreach events, and diversity fairs.
What you need to qualify
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. FOR THE GS-09 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Providing advice and assistance to customers on human resource related topics. Serving as a team representative at management meetings. Coaching team members on human resource related functions. Developing written and oral materials for presenting and recommending to managers, administrative professionals, employees, and public on human resource activities. OR master's or equivalent graduate degree in Business, Administration or Public Administration OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to listed degrees OR LL.B. or J.D., if related Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. TRANSCRIPTS are required if: You are qualifying for the position based on education. You are qualifying for this position based on a combination of experience and education. This education must have been successfully completed and obtained from an accredited school, college, or university. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL: Applicants may have combinations of successfully completed education and specialized experience to meet total qualification requirements. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
