What you'd do

You will serve as a COMPUTER SCIENTIST in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT, SYSTEMS INTEGRATION DIVISION, SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT BRANCH of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Major duties

You will be responsible for engineering solutions and maintaining the information technology (IT) environments supported by the Division. You will monitor system performance, accessibility, and system logs to ensure operational availability. You will analyze users’ software application needs to define and document middleware requirements. You will design solutions to meet middleware requirements while maintaining cybersecurity compliance. You will maintain a software configuration guide to improve the software transition to the supported IT environments.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in system/software administration tasks such as installing, patching, configuring, integrating, testing and monitoring of web servers, geospatial web applications on Linux or Windows operating systems. Experience maintaining cybersecurity compliance strategies for information assurance vulnerabilities, and monitoring systems to ensure operation availability. Experience with Linux system administration and ability to operate in a Linux command line mode. Experience analyzing and resolving operational issues related to software and systems. Experience building and securing software/system solutions to meet organizational and user requirements. Experience working with IT personnel to resolve issues related to design, implementation and operations.
