This vacancy is for a GS-2030-9, Distribution Facilities Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE ALAMEDA LOGISTICS DIVISION -BL in McKinleyville, California.
Major duties
You will serve as a Distribution Facilities Specialist and be responsible for ensuring that material management is executed to achieve and maintain an optimized supply chain and Chief Financial Officer compliant. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Screening documents for receipt verification, inspecting material upon receipt, and accepting material shipments into inventory. Conducting physical inventories and reconciliations. Initiating, preparing, editing, and processing requisitions to stock to include contacting others to obtain materials status information and/or expedite delivery. Using automated systems to maintain inventory control records and to make corrections. Preparing and shipping repairable material back to a designated facility. What you need to qualify
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Managing the flow of goods in warehouses; receiving, storing, and issuing materials; conducting physical inventories; processing requisitions to stock; and preparing materials for shipment in compliance with applicable regulations. Performing quality control functions such as inspecting material upon receipt, conducting inventories and reconciliation, and assisting in the investigation of poor quality or replacement parts. Maintaining accurate supply data using multiple logistics systems. Evaluating and verifying the completeness of inventory transactions, maintaining supporting documentation for all transactions, and using reporting tools to verify data and troubleshoot discrepancies. OR Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field of study such as Supply Management. OR A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in or related to the work of this position and graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
