Major duties
You will assist satellite generators and waste handlers in the day-to-day disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes from generation sites. You will determine appropriate on-site storage area based on type of waste/material and coordinates the pickup and delivery of waste to the on-site storage area. You will serve as Fleet Support Division (FSD) as sampling request coordinator for hazardous wastes, receiving and processing sampling requisition from satellite generators. You will inspect waste generation points and waste material for compliance with regulatory requirements, weigh waste and annotates on turn-in documents. You will develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive program to minimize the volume and toxicity of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated. You will maintain inspection records and files for the Branch Hazardous Waste Coordinators.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: hazardous material/hazardous waste management principles, industrial and domestic waste treatment, spill response procedures, and environmental compliance requirements; maintain records, prepare reports, track inventory, and manage hazardous waste documentation.
