What you'd do

You will serve as a General Engineer in the Strategic Technologies Branch (BL33500) of the Digital Engineering Division, Mission Operations and Integration Dept of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE

Major duties

You will support the Strategic Technology Flight Planning process to include identifying technical gaps, identifying and obtaining appropriate customer sponsorship. You will serve as technical expert in computer/software engineering or computer science fields as appropriate to Strategic Technology maturation of assigned SE/ALRE systems and department core capability technologies. You will continually research new developments in Strategic Technology analytical and management techniques to improve Division capabilities and responsiveness to customer needs.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) investigating new emerging technologies, collaborating with external organizations such as Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Naval Innovative Science and Engineering (NISE) Basic & Applied Research; conducting research within federal and private industry databases; and leading analysis to determine feasibility and cost effectiveness. 2) analyzing alternate hardware and support concepts for the S&T commodity/capabilities while stressing reliability, maintainability, safety, quality, operational readiness, and performance; providing specialized technical expertise on assigned systems. 3) serving as technical expert in the assigned engineering fields of computer & software engineering or computer science, as appropriate to S&T systems maturation of assigned SE/ALRE systems and technologies, 4) researching new S&T technology developments, presenting, and publishing technical papers, patents, and documenting original technical material.
