What you'd do

You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the PLANS, PROGRAMS AND REQUIREMENTS DEPARTMENT(N5/N8), of NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AREA MASTER STATION (NCTAMS).

Major duties

You will retrieve, process, and track data via electronic and manual means from vendors, Base Communications Office (BCO), and other resources as assigned. You will prepare data to be imported into approved Billing Information Processing System (BIPS) or any similar approved billing system for monthly billing processing. You will retrieve data from the division’s approved billing system for the purpose of providing command activity monthly billing reports You will update billing databases to include all base inventories and applicable contract and task order details as assigned. You will retrieve, track, and resolve command activity billing inquiries via phone or electronic email boxes and respond and adjust billing as required. You will process incoming U.S. mail, including vendor invoices and review invoices, past due balances, and new current charges against current telecommunications service contracts. You will communicate with command point of contact (POC’s) and telecommunication vendors to resolve discrepancies, prepare reports, and make recommendations to the supervisor on how to resolve discrepancies You will assist branch analysts with identification of inconsistencies and errors in data through visual inspection and reports.

What you need to qualify

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: - Experience developing financial planning reports. - Experience utilizing the Billing Information Processing System (BIPS) and Configuration Accounting Information Retrieval System (CAIRS) or equivalent systems. -Experience conducting invoice reconciliation between the approved contracted services and actual services provided. -Experience auditing vendor invoices and identifying discrepancies, overcharges or errors. This position is within the Work Category TECHNICIAN & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, GG-0344-09.
