Senior Staff Accountant
What you'd do
This position is located at The Federal Financing Bank (FFB), under Domestic Finance's Office of Public Finance. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will provide expert advice on a variety of complex and unique accounting problems, prepare technical reports, original analysis and exhibits on findings, and recommendations for the Federal Financing Bank's Director of Accounting.
Major duties
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will: Oversee the implementation of recommendations and solutions and provide training and guidance to junior accountant staff. Coordinate the implementation of new or revised procedures involving the numerous types of accounting operations in the Federal Financing Bank (FFB). Conduct research and analyses for various accounting, financial, and budgeting processes used by the Federal Financing Bank (FFB) in support of its overall financial management responsibilities. Provide expert analysis and support of the FFB's Federal Credit Reform Act (FCRA) and federal credit accounting needs, including reconciling credit program activity to agency financial statements and supporting audit readiness.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Applying Federal Credit Reform Act (FCRA) accounting principles, federal credit program accounting, or comparable loan accounting methodologies to record loan transactions and calculate subsidy costs; AND - Interpreting and implementing Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) standards in the preparation, analysis, or review of federal financial statements; AND - Integrating FCRA accounting, federal credit program accounting, or comparable loan accounting with broader financial reporting, including reconciling credit program activity to agency financial statements, supporting audit readiness, and resolving accounting discrepancies or audit findings. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
