MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER
What you'd do
You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division, Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Major duties
You will apply a variety of methods, procedures and techniques to install, align, repair, overhaul, and maintain numerous types of fixed and semi-fixed production machinery. You will work from building plans and blueprints to plan and layout the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment. You will assist the supervisor in determining priorities of the work to be accomplished by subordinates and pass on to the other works the instructions received from the supervisor.
What you need to qualify
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise such as: 1) Checking to ensure that there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy, and advises other workers to follow instructions received from supervisor to meet deadlines. 2) Checking work while in progress and when complete to see whether the supervisor's instructions on the work sequence, procedures, methods have been followed. 3) Assisting the supervisor in determining priorities of the work to be accomplished by subordinates and assigning tasks according to the skills of the individual. 4) Resolving work problems and taking action to resolve bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other delays. 5) Determining the nature and extent of repairs necessary and makes needed repairs by replacing, reworking or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components. I have Journeymen level experience in one of these trades: Production Machinery Mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic, Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, Electrician, Pipefitter, HVAC Mechanic, Rigger, Sheet Metal Mechanic, or Welder.
