What you'd do

Major duties

You will convey written information in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner. You will use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. You will express thoughts persuasively and use effective modes to reinforce message retention. You will demonstrate skill in using job relevant information systems and/or software applications. You will perform work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; 2) Express thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce message retention; 3) Demonstrate skill in using job relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet; 4) Perform work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents; 5) Maintain office records; locate and compile data or information from files; compile information for reports; 6) Keep a calendar and inform others of deadlines and other important dates; and 7) Perform similar clerical support work within an organization. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
