Supervisory Information Technology Specialist

Major duties
This position is located in our Infrastructure Division. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will: Direct enterprise infrastructure operations and hosting services supporting FinCEN's cloud, on-premises, and hybrid computing environments, ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and continuous operation of mission-critical systems, production services, Bank Secrecy Act data processing, networks, databases, end-user computing, telecommunications, and remote access capabilities. Lead strategic planning, governance, and modernization initiatives for enterprise infrastructure services by developing technology roadmaps, participating in capital planning and investment activities, evaluating program alternatives, establishing operational policies, and aligning technology investments with mission priorities, customer needs, and organizational objectives. Provide executive leadership for cybersecurity and operational resilience by identifying infrastructure risks, security vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and operational weaknesses affecting FISMA High (or comparable) environments; implementing appropriate security controls; and ensuring compliance with Federal information security requirements while maintaining service availability and mission continuity. Oversee acquisition, implementation, and performance management of enterprise IT contracts by evaluating technical solutions, assessing cost-effectiveness and programmatic value, guiding major technology procurements, and ensuring contractor performance supports organizational objectives, customer service expectations, and operational excellence. Serve as a senior technical advisor to executive leadership by collaborating across Treasury, partner agencies, and stakeholders to resolve complex operational issues, improve enterprise service delivery, communicate significant service impacts, and ensure infrastructure capabilities effectively support FinCEN's mission and both internal and external customer experience. Provide technical and administrative supervision to staff involved in highly technical IT functions, including developing policies and plans and providing information security and assurance measures. What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé. For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Experience operating and maintaining an IT production environment, which includes configuration and/or operations of hardware, networks, and computing platforms in cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments for both mission applications and end user environments; AND - Experience in IT functional responsibilities, such as: formulating or updating policies, budget formulation, and assessing programmatic options; AND - Experience identifying cyber-security issues, trends, and/ or weaknesses that halt the delivery and accessibility of analysis of highly sensitive data in a FISMA High, or similar, environment ; AND - Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing contracting services and products (e.g. cost-effectiveness, technical capability, and agency objectives); AND - Experience providing supervision or leadership to staff or teams involved in highly technical IT functions in the areas of infrastructure and hosting. Examples: developing operational policies and plans; establishing priorities, developing performance standards and/or evaluating performance; eliminating work bottlenecks; participating in the resolution of serious complaints; and/or promoting team building.
