This vacancy is for a GS - 1170 - 13, Realty Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, FACILITIES OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT DIVISION in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
Major duties
You will serve as a Realty Specialist and be responsible portfolio wide reporting on the status of acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, you will occasionally prepare and/or review leasing and purchase actions for complex space transactions, including changes in the amount and configuration of space; changes in the type of services received; enforcement of lease provisions; and changes of ownership. Your efforts secure interests in space, land, or real estate to meet Coast Guard mission requirements. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Preparing special agreements affecting and purchase activities. Working closely with affected operational commands to ensure their input is considered prior to entering into new agreements, extensions or renewals, and to ensure that all leases are being properly administered and managed.. Maintains real property lease files in accordance with Coast Guard policy. Maintains and updates various spreadsheets and real property inventory databases, to include performing data input. Receiving assignments and has cradle-to-grave responsibility for acquisition projects including the inspection/assessment and acquisition of land, easements, leases, and rights-of-way. Preparing Site Evaluation Reports by researching and identifying available properties, conducting site surveys and inspections, assembling and analyzing pertinent property acquisition cost data and evaluating adequacy of property. Performing disposal actions that include demolition, lease terminations, and excessing of real property. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. The incumbent must obtain and maintain DHS Real Estate Contract Warrant, Leasing Certification Program (LCP) Level II. What you need to qualify
Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Managing portfolio-wide data in MAXIMO or a similar system of record Preparing Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP) and/or Real Property Data Warehouse (RPDW) submissions Coordinating Real Property utilization surveys Preparing proposals for acquiring or disposing of Real Property 24 semester hours of business-related education or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or related applicable assessment) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.
