TECHNICIAN
What you'd do
You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the AVAILABILITY PLANNING DIVISION, MODERIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME.
Major duties
You will serve as a Senior Team Member for Combat System Technical Documentation, Advanced Planning, Design Services Allocation (DSA), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) support or Industrial Planning Team. You will provide direct support to Navy personnel and contractors regarding combat system documentation aboard ships and other Naval facilities. You will ensure accurate and up-to-date technical information is available for the operation and maintenance of shipboard combat systems. You will prepare, review, modify, and update technical documentation related to Combat Systems. You will update documentation to reflect changes made during ship maintenance and upgrades. You will conduct on-site verification of combat system equipment and system functionality, develop and implement necessary revisions to technical text, diagrams, and tables; Ensure timely delivery of updated documentation to the ship. You will assist end-users (sailors, technicians) in identifying and resolving documentation discrepancies affecting combat system operation; Validate on-site equipment and computer hardware to verify documentation accuracy.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing direct support to Navy personnel and contractors regarding combat system documentation aboard ships and other Naval facilities and ensuring accurate and up-to-date technical information is available for the operation and maintenance of shipboard combat systems.
