What you'd do

You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Systems Acquisition Group, Program Management Department, and Unmanned Aircraft Common Equipment - Weapons (UACE-W) PMA-280 of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, MD.

Major duties

You will be responsible for all cost, schedule and performance management of all the programs and projects assigned under the Program Office as well as coordinate and serve as a key advisor and member of the Program Office Leadership Team. You will develop and coordinate all required program acquisition documentation and briefings as well as ensure all program requirements and milestones are communicated and coordinated with program leadership. You will analyze needs and requirements information necessary for development of specific objectives for assigned program initiatives and for planning. You will direct the development of comprehensive program plans to ensure fulfillment of technical, cost schedule and performance objectives. You will assure that all planning is fully integrated with the overall program team effort and that of any other participating services and agencies when necessary. You will serve as the central point of contact within the program office for all matters concerning the program in addition to establishing and maintaining relationships both within the organization and with relevant external groups. You will evaluate work performance of team members and provide inputs to Group Leaders and supervisors on performance of IPT members.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band (DA-05) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
