What you'd do

This position is located at the New Sunrise Regional Treatment Center (NSRTC) in Acoma, NM. The purpose of this position is to perform journeyman-level maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, exterior structures, related fixtures, and utility systems within the healthcare facilities and/or quarters. The position requires the regular and recurring application of multiple skilled trades in support of patient care, staff operations, and facility safety.

Major duties

Perform journeyman-level installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems and components across multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, HVAC, and related building systems. Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing, piping, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical equipment, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant facility operations. Construct, modify, and repair structural and non-structural building components, including doors, windows, walls, flooring, cabinetry, and finishes; prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces to maintain appearance and functionality. Perform exterior facility maintenance, including grounds, drainage, fencing, walkways, irrigation systems, snow and ice removal, and other related trades such as minor roofing, concrete, locksmithing, and light welding as needed.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element - Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element). Applicants who appear to meet the screen out element are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated from consideration. The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements. While a specific length of training and experience is not required, your responses to the questionnaire must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience on your resume.
