INSPECTIONS OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) have unified to become the Marine Minerals Administration which oversees the responsible development of the nation's offshore energy and marine mineral resources.
Major duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Gulf of America Region (GOAR), District Field Operations, Production Operations Support Section, in Jefferson, LA. At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Serves as an apprentice to the regional production operations inspection auditors in monthly teleconferences with the Supervisor inspectors by planning meetings and setting agenda items. 2. Assists on inspection consistency reviews which include the shadowing of inspectors during inspections and subsequent analysis of the production operations inspection results. 3. Monitors the Federal Register for proposed and final rules that are applicable to and represent a possible impact to the Office of District Field Operations' responsibilities and procedures relating to the production operations inspection program. 4. Assists as a member of the Gulf of America (GOA) Potential Incident of Non-Compliance (PINC) Team. 5. Assists as an outreach coordinator on GOA inspection procedures and guidelines and is responsible for outlining and clarifying BSEE's inspection initiatives and policies. 6. Handles all visitor uniforms for the Gulf of America Region (GOAR) and main point of contact on the uniform contract (COR II) The Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position suitable for telework only during and emergency or natural disaster. Salary Information GS-12 Step 1: $103,225 to $134,195 per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Performing inspections of oil and gas facilities to ensure safety of operations and identifying deficiencies or violations of environmental and safety laws and regulations; 2. Review inspection procedures and policy related to offshore oil, gas and sulphur exploration, development, and production operations to ensure consistency in protocol 3. Write incidents of non-compliance. Must meet all.
