What you'd do
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking.
Major duties
Serves as a Geospatial Information System (GIS) subject matter expert and program administrator. Identify requirements and implements advanced analytical techniques to solve complex GIS issues. Provide technical services, training, and develops applications/databases for installation personnel authorized to use GIS. Serve as the senior specialist on Global Positioning System (GPS) surveying and as the primary point of contact and coordination on all matters related to Mapping/Surveying. Update and maintain installation maps, gathering data from surveys, both visual and physical, and real property data.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes administering the installation's comprehensive GIS program and related mapping systems to independently develop, update, and manage crucial geospatial data products supporting installation operations and engineering high-accuracy installation maps, utility system layouts, and official real estate exhibits by utilizing advanced GPS surveying, complex data integration, and technical validation during construction acceptances. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
