Major duties
Assist the Lodging Facility Manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the facility and assumes all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the manager. Assists with the preparation of annual activity operational budget, other reports and documents. Maintains records and files. Assist in the supervision of assigned employees, approves/disapproves leave requests and completes performance evaluations. Verifies daily attendance and time cards. Prepares work schedules. Ensures that security, safety, and housekeeping rules are followed. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Provides on-the-job training, instruction and guidance to employees. Manage vendor accounts, accounts receivable and payable, and inventories. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand, properly stocked, and materials are in good order. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation and other environmental issues. Provides Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify
Must have three years of experience in hotel and/or lodging business administration and familiarity with business practices and market conditions applicable to program and technical requirement sufficient to perform required duties. Must have the ability to operate a variety of office machines to include a personal computer. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have an outgoing personality and be able to handle customers with tact and diplomacy. Must have good telephone etiquette. Supervisory experience in hotel or lodging is desired. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. Ability to supervise employees and establish and maintain effective working relationship with immediate supervisor, subordinates, officials, and others. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
