What you'd do
This position is located at Logan Physical Fitness Center, Fort Bliss, Texas Refusal of a military spouse to participate in established recruitment procedures is considered a declination of employment and is a basis for termination of SEP entitlement. (AR 215-3 2-5) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Major duties
Oversees daily fitness center operations, manages staff schedules, sets performance goals, and ensures work is completed on time. Helps plan budgets and staffing needs while maximizing facility use for programs and individuals fitness. Monitors contract, MOA, and GPR requirements to approve payments. Ensures all operating procedures are followed and services meet standards. Evaluates facility needs and helps design upgrades or new fitness spaces. Works with DPW and contractors to ensure projects meet Army standards. Prepares reports, updates SOPs, and supports marketing for programs and events. Promotes fitness programs through articles, flyers, and marketing materials. Gives tours to VIPs and assists with required MWR and DoD reports to ensure compliance with standards and expectations. Tracks equipment condition, maintains inventory, and schedules repairs or replacements. Works with staff to recommend new equipment and ensures patrons use equipment safely and correctly.
What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. 2. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Desirable: Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge and skills to perform the duties identified above. MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management.
