INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a COMSEC Manager in the Cyber Engineering & Digital Transformation Directorate of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Major duties
You will develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for the protection, installation and use of Communication Security (COMSEC) information and systems. You will perform and coordinate the maintenance of COMSEC equipment, including Secure Telephone Equipment (STEs) assigned to NAVSEA personnel You will provide local elements with written guidance or appropriate extracts from publications and manuals necessary for the accurate and secure handling/accounting of COMSEC materials. You will conduct training to ensure all personnel handling COMSEC material are familiar with and adhere to proper COMSEC procedures. You will oversee the implementation of and compliance with over the air procedures. You will conduct required inventories and destruction of COMSEC material. You will maintain proper physical security measures when transporting COMSEC material. You will investigate and initiate actions required to submit reports for any insecure practices or incidents. You will verify security clearances of all personnel prior to granting access to and issuing of COMSEC material. You will conduct quarterly Local Management Device and Key Processor (LMD/KP) changeover. You will resolve problems or issues concerning several phases of security policy development and implementation for programs where the work involves overlapping, conflicting, or difficult to resolve security requirements.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of information security program principles, particularly regarding Electronic Key Management Systems (EKMS), Communication Security (COMSEC) accounting/handling, electronic key control, and secure communication equipment (e.g., Secure Telephone Equipment (STEs)) to assist with routine COMSEC material handling (such as inventories, destruction, and page checks), maintaining account records, or conducting basic physical security checks.
