Major duties
You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in SATELLITE COMMUNICATION (SATCOM) DIVISION, SPACE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT at NAVAL NETWORK WARFARE COMMAND (NAVNETWARCOM). You will conduct SATCOM asset monitoring reports. You will assess and provide recommendations on requirements, issues, and planning actions impacting SATCOM systems. You will provide operational scheduling for Commercial SATCOM users worldwide. You will coordinate with commands to assess and implement SATCOM requirements. You will review and provide subject matter expert analysis to SATCOM policies and directives. You will provide situational awareness and operational advisory fleet support to ensure protected SATCOM operations. You will complete SATCOM system updates. You will provide technical and operational guidance to subordinate and adjacent Commands and Fleet units on matters pertaining to SATCOM operations and management.
What you need to qualify
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience monitoring and evaluating operational status of current SATCOM systems. -Experience interpreting policy and resolving programmatic and operational SATCOM issues. -Experience managing SATCOM operations including current and scheduled users, satellite/user outages and assessments on other operation SATCOM issues. -Experience providing technical and operational assistance for activation, fault isolation, and lease assignment and planning to SATCOM users.
