This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Infrastructure Management Division. As an Lead IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will analyze develop, test for quality assurance, configure implement, integrate and manage networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and video formats as specifically related to Perimeter Security.

As an Lead IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Serve as a Fiscal Service and Treasury Lead IT Specialist working on the Bureau's IT communications infrastructure and Treasury wide Trusted Internet Connection infrastructure respectively. Ensure the interoperability and interconnectivity to and from perimeter security communication hardware and equipment components and that maximum capability is being achieved at minimum cost. Evaluate perimeter security equipment against desired standards for reliability and efficiency. Conduct feasibility studies preliminary to application system changes, or proposed changes in perimeter security equipment to meet special requirements, by evaluating the benefits of various equipment configurations. Maintain a knowledge of network and TIC related security policies and guidelines. Reviews policies and procedures and recommends changes to optimize or improve security and utilization of present systems.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé. Specialized Experience for the GS-13, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:Experience performing IT work that involves planning, leading, or developing assignments, and directing or leading administrative and technical IT projects and programs in order to support technologies, operations, applications, and activities within the Branch. For the GS-13, examples of such experience could include: - Experience leading a team for IT related projects OR - Experience in the technical planning, engineering, deployment, and support of IT systems; OR - Experience as an administrator of IT systems or devices such as networking devices, servers, DNS (Domain Names System), MTA (Mail Transfer Agent), and Proxy Service; OR - Providing liaison, recommendations and technical information between an organization and customers In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must meet proficiency levels in each of the following IT competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Information Management, Interpersonal Skills, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Technical Competence A Work Sample will be used to determine if you meet the required proficiency levels. A Work Sample/narrative assessment will be used to determine whether you meet the required competency proficiency levels.
