QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DIV, COMPLIANCE & QUALITY DEPT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Major duties
You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) management plans and in-process inspection programs to ensure manufactured and repaired products conform to technical specifications and contract requirements. You will lead process improvement teams, document corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and recommend policy and process revisions to drive continuous improvement in cost, schedule, and quality. You will conduct comprehensive quality audits, reviews, and evaluations to determine compliance with procedural requirements, track deficiency trends, and ensure corrective actions are sustained. You will manage the personnel qualification and special process certification programs, including developing examinations, reviewing technical documentation, and granting or revoking certification authority. You will administer the external product deficiency reporting program by evaluating incoming and outgoing deficiency reports, determining root causes, and coordinating resolution actions with procurement offices and supply agencies. You will develop and deliver formal classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) programs to instruct personnel on quality assurance guidelines, safety protocols, and technical quality system principles.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Applying quality and industrial engineering theories, concepts, and methods to conduct complex analyses, develop quality assurance approaches, and interpret technical standards in support of production operations; 2) Independently analyzing and resolving industrial production issues by applying engineering principles, evaluating process performance, and recommending technically sound solutions to support compliant manufacturing activities; 3) Conducting quality management reviews, project evaluations, and technical quality investigations while integrating data from multiple engineering disciplines to produce accurate findings; and 4) Providing comprehensive quality support, including assessing production processes, executing root-cause analyses for failures, and developing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure process reliability and product conformity.
