Major duties

As a Health Policy and Issues Management Analyst, you will: Assist with reviewing legislation, policies, and program information to support reports, briefing materials, and management responses. Collaborate with budget activities by compiling financial data, tracking expenditures and preparing supporting information for budget requests. Support program evaluation activities by compiling data and preparing reports related to program outcomes and performance measures. Provide support for congressional and stakeholder correspondence by preparing timely responses and maintaining records consistent with Departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing all of the information below: Assessing program impacts, identifying operational challenges, drafting policy briefs, and recommending evidence-based solutions to senior leadership. Assessing resource needs, performing multi-year funding projections, monitoring expenditures across diverse funding streams, and contributing to the formulation of budget requests. Conducting data analysis, developing performance metrics, model program outcomes, and produce decision-ready reports to inform strategic planning, regulatory review, and risk mitigation efforts. OR Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Have a combination of graduate education or experience that meets 100% of the requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
