ENGINEER
What you'd do
You will serve as a ENGINEER in the TEST AND EVALUATION DEPARTMENT, FLEET WARFIGHTING READINESS AND OPERATIONS DIVISION, UNDERSEA WARFARE SHIP TEST AND EVALUATION BRANCH of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
Major duties
You will plan, coordinate, and execute testing for Undersea Warfare (USW) combat systems. You will analyze and report on the performance of USW components on Navy Destroyers and Cruisers. You will verify and validate the correct installation of combat and weapon systems on individual ships. You will ensure systems can be safely and effectively operated and maintained by ship personnel. You will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, scientists, and technical staff. You will brief ship's senior personnel on the results of system testing and evaluation. You will develop written plans and presentations on project status, problems, and milestones.
What you need to qualify
For ND-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-9/10/11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer applying advanced engineering principles to independently plan, lead, execute, and analyze the testing and evaluation of Undersea Warfare (USW), sonar, or similar complex shipboard combat systems to verify safe installation and full operational readiness. For ND-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-02 pay band (GS-5/6/7/8 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer applying engineering principles to support the planning, execution, and analysis of testing and evaluation of Undersea Warfare (USW), sonar, or similar shipboard combat systems to verify safe installation and operational readiness.
