About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at NETCOM Headquarters ACofS G-2 at Fort Huachuca, AZ.
Major duties
Serves as a Security Specialist responsible for administration of Personnel Security (PERSEC) Information Security (INFOSEC), and Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) programs. Collaborates directly with Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) G2 and Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) G2 to resolve complex security challenges impacting the security posture of the command and subordinate units. Assists with Preparation, coordination, and conducting Security Compliance inspections and Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) including the preparation and presentation of briefings and written reports on the results. Administers the INFOSEC Program for Headquarters, NETCOM, ensuring the protection of classified information across the headquarters staff. Provides guidance and advise to Command staff regarding the original and derivative classification process, proper storage, destruction and transportation requirements. Assists in implementing the program for the security of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) at the headquarters and throughout the command. Serves as the principle subject matter expert for NETCOM G2 and administers PERSEC program command wide. Develops NETCOM policy on all aspects of the Personnel Security Program management across the command. Responsible for implementing a broad range of PERSEC requirements across the command, independently making complex policy interpretation of all aspects of PERSEC management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1. Administration and oversight of a multi disciplined security and training program to include: Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), and Security Education, Training & Awareness (SETA) AND 2. Interpretation of security policies and dissemination of information to Command and subcommands AND 3. Providing guidance, leadership and oversight to subordinates. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
