About the Position: An Industrial Specialist GS-09 coordinates production schedules and manages supply levels to keep manufacturing operations running smoothly. This includes data track, fix database errors, and work closely with different teams to resolve delays and ensure projects stay on track.
Major duties
Track daily manufacturing schedules to ensure products are completed on time. Work directly with supply, safety, and quality departments to resolve project delays. Enter and update manufacturing data in digital systems to keep records accurate. Investigate database errors, find the root cause, and correct the information. Order industrial supplies, parts, and safety equipment to support ongoing work. Monitor warehouse stock levels and coordinate with shipping and storage teams. Spot potential supply or labor shortages early and propose quick solutions. Create simple reports to keep managers informed of project progress and issues. Follow local safety, security, and industrial guidelines to maintain compliance. Recommend simple workflow adjustments to help teams work faster and reduce errors.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-09 level, applicants must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. This experience must show a practical knowledge of industrial production operations (including methods, materials, and facilities) used to track production data, find and fix reporting errors, and keep system database information accurate. Additionally, candidates must have experience coordinating with supply, manufacturing, and quality departments to keep production tasks on schedule. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major course of study in business administration, accounting, law, marketing, statistics, production management, industrial management, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
