What you'd do

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an IT Program Manager for the Communications Systems Directorate in Miami, FL.

Major duties

Align IT initiatives with the command's strategic objectives and operational outcomes to ensure readiness, operational efficiency, and mission outcomes. Design and integrate cyber strategies outlining the organization's mission. Promote awareness of security issues among management to ensure sound security principles are followed. Implement comprehensive IT policies and strategies for enterprise architecture and technology employment. Ensure plans of action and remediation are in place for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, and inspections. Guide the integration of emerging technologies to meet mission-critical demands while ensuring compliance with DoW strategies, IT policies, and standards. Facilitate enterprise IT planning to enable cutting-edge warfighting capabilities. Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel on the security risk assessment process to address privacy compliance and risk mitigation. Evaluate subordinates' performance and recommend education, promotion, or reassignment actions. Coordinate with organizational manpower stakeholders to ensure appropriate allocation and distribution of human capital assets. Supervise civilian personnel and military members. Review and recommend selections, promotions, and training opportunities for personnel across multiple divisions. Monitor the development and dissemination of policies related to cyber and data-informed enterprise IT operations to make key decisions regarding strategic policy and resource allocation. Track the planning, programming, and execution of organizational resources to ensure alignment with budgets and funds.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Design and integrate IT strategies outlining the organization's mission to meet program requirements; 2). Supervise civilian personnel and military members and the assignment and distribution of workload to ensure organizational deadlines are met; and 3). Monitor the development and dissemination of policies related to cyber and data-informed enterprise IT operations to make key decisions regarding strategic policy and resource allocation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
