What you'd do

The Division of Enforcement, New York regional Office (NYRO) is seeking a Supervisory Market Surveillance Specialist (Assistant Director-Investigations). As an Assistant Director - Investigations, you will be responsible for leading the Investigations Group comprised in NYRO and overseeing its staff comprised of Investigators, Accountants and Securities Compliance Examiners.

Major duties

In this role as a Assistant Director - Investigations, you will be responsible for: Receiving, assigning, tracking, and responding to requests for assistance from case teams across ENF. Determining the scope of work and resource allocation for the Investigations Group. Consulting on cases, including by advising teams on TCRs and SARs. Reviewing the work product of the Investigations Group staff. Serving as a reviewer and adviser on TCRs and SARs. Briefing Division leadership regarding the work of Investigations Group. Assisting in providing witnesses for civil and criminal litigations. Performing related administrative functions (e.g., time and leave requests).

What you need to qualify

Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-14 level. Applicants are responsible for confirming all required materials are submitted by the closing date of the announcement. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: SK-17: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level: 1. Leading and evaluating the analysis of financial data to identify patterns, anomalies, or potential misconduct; AND 2. Participating in the development of reports, findings, and recommendations; AND 3. Reviewing of tips, complaints and referrals (TCRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to assist in the development of the factual record in investigations and litigations. ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES: Your Accomplishment Record narratives should address the following competencies.
