Major duties
As a Immigration Officer, GS-14 you will perform the following duties: Serves as an Immigration Officer performing a variety of programmatic oversight, investigative and analytical functions at the Headquarters level. Oversees the S-Visa and Deferred Action (DA) programs and executes compliance responsibilities to all Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent in Charge (SAC) offices. Assigns work to junior Adjudication Officers for Significant Public Benefit Parole (SPBP) adjudication work for S-Visa and DA applicants. Oversees, directs, and performs cross-organizational analysis of public safety and national security risks inherent to the parole and issue of S-Visa Status of subjects often with extensive, violent, and sometimes extremist backgrounds and evaluates the requesting agencies' plan and capacity to mitigate those threats. Plans, organizes, and coordinates senior level briefings and information exchange related programs and projects designed to improve the efficiency of the program

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS- 13 next lower grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Soliciting status updates from requesting organizations and parole coordinators to ensure mandatory tracking requirements are adhered to and that the relevant updates are made to the electronic case; Ensuring the implementation of appropriate oversight mechanisms to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and the determinations of a program; Participating in inter-agency and/or intra-agency task forces and other special groups that work to enhance national security and the integrity of immigration sponsorship programs; Providing advice and guidance to Agency managers on matters relative to organizational operations, policies, procedures, and other requirements; and Performing quality control to ensure compliance and adherence to applicable laws, agency policy, and interagency memoranda of agreements.
