Housing Manager
What you'd do
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Housing Manager located at an Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Garrison.
Major duties
Management and implementation of projects, facilities, or complexes in support of housing management programs to include: Housing Services Office (HSO}, Unaccompanied Housing (UH}, Furnishings Management, and Army Family Housing (AFH). Utilizes enterprise Military Housing (eMH) database. May be expected to perform duties under a joint base operations requiring an understanding and knowledge of Army, Air Force, or Navy policies, programs, and procedures. For Army Family Housing (AFH) - Performs change of occupancy pre-final, termination, and assignment inspections of units. For Unaccompanied Housing (UH) - Assists the supervisor in developing overall installation plans and procedures and development of short and long-range. For Housing Services Office (HSO) - Conducts activities to include housing referral and relocation support. For Furnishings Management - Plans and budgets for maintenance, repair and distribution of family and bachelor housing furniture including furniture for troop billets. Interprets and implements regulations and directives governing housing activities. Serves as alternate Contracting Officer Representative (COR), responsible for day-to-day management of contracts supporting housing functions as required or appointed.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. (GS-09) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience assisting with conducting inspections to ensure habitability and compliance with policies and standards; 2) gathering information to prepare briefings and reports for submission; 3) providing administrative support to the housing program's budgeting and resource management team to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Urban Planning; Business or Public Administration; Housing, Property or Facility Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
