What you'd do

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the BUSINESS OPERATIONS DIVISION, SENSORS WEAPONS AND LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

Major duties

You will serve as the Administrative Office (AO) providing comprehensive administrative support within the Division, while working under supervision in close collaboration with team leads, managers, and mentors. You will perform a broad range of administrative tasks including manpower analysis, personnel management, awards administration, and performance management. You will be responsible for assisting Division Managers with justifications for new positions, ensuring the accuracy of position descriptions, and preparing all personnel and manpower plans. You will monitor the Department Awards Program, oversee the performance evaluation system, and manage the Task Management System to ensure that all tasks assigned by leadership are completed within established timelines. You will serve as Training Liaison tracking training requests and coordinating with the Workforce Development Office. You will serve as Records Management Liaison conducting periodic audits to ensure compliance with policy. You will initiate, review, and track personnel actions (promotions, recruitment, reassignment, position reviews, etc.) through appropriate automated systems.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-05 through GS-08 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing automated personnel systems to provide personnel management and recruitment support, initiate and track personnel actions, monitor deadlines and tasks, and develop and review correspondence for an administrative program.
