What you'd do
This position is located at Defense Finance and Accounting Service -Texarkana, Texas.. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Major duties
Performs or directs the accounting management of the fund. Develops, monitors, reviews and/or analyzes financial reports, payroll, accounts payable, internal review follow-up and banking data. Develops and revises in-house data to meet new requirements. Provides guidance and direction necessary to effectively accomplish mission requirements. .Prepares various reports of findings, recommendations, and financial position.
What you need to qualify
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: A bachelor's degree is required which includes a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting and work experience of the type described above. or Combination of education and experience -- at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law. A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement. Experience MUST be reflected on RESUME in order to receive credit. Transcripts MUST be uploaded at the time of application.
