What you'd do
About the Position: The incumbent of this position serves as Supervisory Public Safety Dispatcher for the US Army Installation Management Command, in the Directorate of Emergency Services Fire Protection and Prevention Division in Fort Carson Colorado.
Major duties
Provides police, fire and emergency medical dispatching services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and dispatching appropriate personnel and equipment. Provides emergency medical dispatching (EMD) assistance to callers with medical emergencies using the Priority Dispatch EMD system. Performs supervisory duties in the installation's emergency dispatch center. Maintains reports and retrieves needed statistical information using the National Fire Incident Reporting System(s) (NFIRS).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing dispatch services for medical emergencies, law enforcement, aviation, or fire operations AND 2) using computer-aided dispatching systems and radio equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Interpersonal Skills Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
