MATERIALS HANDLER
What you'd do
You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Major duties
You will receive and unload materials in accordance with schedules and priorities. You will prepare and transport materials to appropriate storage locations giving consideration to special handling requirements. You will maintain proper security and care of materials while held in storage and staging including management of shelf life material. You will determine handling procedures for various materials. You will participate in physical inventories of material as required. You will deliver material to appropriate locations. You will be required to perform duties, which involve exposure to a variety of industrial working conditions and environments.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to exercise procurement processes and procedures, with broad knowledge of technical requirements and methods used in processing items into and out of the Navy supply management system with alternate means of supply actions of procurement, to include document reconciliation and storage location considerations with regards to logistics and special stowage requirements. Ability to exercise a thorough understanding of use of material part numbers, stock numbers, condition codes, special material identification codes, cognizance symbols, security codes and nomenclature identification utilized in catalogs and publications. Ability to include reconciliation of discrepancies in requisition status, inventory accountability, Defective Material Summary (DMS) screening accomplished through causative analysis for HMEO&E and Nuclear materials, validates material in SLDB to ensure accuracy. Ability to execute requirements in support of the Depot Level Repairable (DLR) Program inventory management program to include the issue, receipt, monitoring, Material Turned-Into Shore (MTIS), carcass tracking, and development of material support requirements. Ability to properly determine material associated with the customers Authorized User List (AUL).
