PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SPECIALIST (FAP)
What you'd do

Major duties
Conduct briefs, workshops, and training to staff members on family violence within a community. Promote and publicize training resources available for social services programs. Build therapeutic relationships with patients and significant others by assuring client dignity and respect. Implement work and family service plans to meet short and long-range program goals. Draft reports and correspondence to respond to medical, law enforcement, and judicial inquiries. Brief senior level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting fleet and family strategic objectives.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying program management methods and techniques, and implementing prevention programs and related program management activities for the installation and tenant commands to promote healthy climates and to ensure the delivery of prevention activities and approaches designed to foster individual, group, and organizational health and performance to reduce and prevent problematic/destructive behaviors, such as: suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity, etc.; 2. Advising installation, Command and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives, and developing and implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders have prevention knowledge, skills and abilities to address gaps and promote the well-being of team members, teams, leaders, and the larger organization; AND 3. Consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs.
