ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
What you'd do
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Major duties
You will inspect new facilities, or newly modified facilities, to determine, collect and/or validate information required to populate a new property record, or update data elements of existing property record data You will determine exact geospatial location of new facilities (buildings and structures) and infrastructure modifications (ie., utilities, roads, parking areas, etc..) that have recently been constructed. You will perform walk through inspection in order to validate/determine current facility occupant and how facility is being utilized. You will perform field inspection of geographic areas to determine accuracy of existing condition maps generated from electronic data layers within the Base GIS repository. You will identify mapping deficiencies and annotates required changes necessary to update electronic data layers. You will read construction contract drawings and compares to field conditions after contract completion.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Prepare, gather and provide vital facility inspection information, inspection reports, sketches, photograph and geographically locate using global positioning system instrumentation newly constructed or modified facilities and/or infrastructure systems identified during field inspections.
