What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the COMPTROLLER DIVISION of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary.

Major duties

You will conduct analytical studies, trend analyses, or other financial data research to verify accuracy of data and reports. You will advise senior leaders on the allocation of financial resources for an organization. You will advise and counsel employees on administrative matters. You will adapt financial management practices and procedures to address programmatic issues. You will analyze an organization's portfolio of financial management information technology (IT) systems functionality to minimize support requirements. You will develop user training for a wide base of financial management information system users.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as senior liaison for budget, accounting, and/or financial management policies and procedures; 2) Using knowledge of DOD/DON financial management concepts, principles, laws and regulations for financial programs for the command; 3) Planning, developing, managing, and/or directing an integrated financial management system; 4) Planning, developing, and/or modifying financial policies for financial programs; 5) Preparing accounting reports; 6) Providing advice concerning the accounting and fiscal audits of an organization. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26. Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
