SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Major duties
You will serve as the principal technical and logistics advisor to the Commanding Officer and Program Managers/Project Officers at United States (U.S.) Navy Systems Commands (SYSCOMs) and others for assigned programs. You will provide input and guidance for logistics evaluation exercises, and security studies, and serves as the senior technical/logistics advisors to SYSCO MS and others responsible for development and support of BPC programs. You will monitor, evaluate and implement program changes to improve program effectiveness. You will implement plans, policies, and procedures of DoD, Department of State (DoS), NAVSUP, and NAVSUP WSS.
What you need to qualify
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, directing, and evaluating complex international logistics and supply chain management programs, specifically supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Building Partner Capacity (BPC) initiatives; 2) Utilizing integrating life-cycle logistics functions &mdash, including Warehouse Operations Management, Packaging, Handling, Shipping, and Transportation (PHS&T), and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) controls— 3) Utilizing Government Transportation Management Systems to meet strict customer shipping metrics and timelines; 4) Demonstrating the ability to formulate budget execution plans, develop supply chain policies, and serve as a principal technical advisor collaborating with senior military leadership, Systems Commands (SYSCOMs), and inter-service working groups to resolve complex logistics issues and achieve mission objectives.
