What you'd do
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce for to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana. This is a Term position Not to Exceed (NTE) 4 Years. Term positions may be extended beyond six years up to 8 years. Major duties
Use practical knowledge of computer systems' hardware and software and general knowledge of Information Technology standards, policies and techniques approved for use within the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS). Ensures that supporting generators are operational. Require a working knowledge of various types and sizes of wires, connectors, and plugs Replaces batteries, switches, cables, coil boxes, microcircuits and targets. Assists Range Branch personnel in computer systems, equipment and applications used in range operations. Inspects and troubleshoots electrical pop-up target mechanisms.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Target Systems Maintenance Worker (MVO)~ without more than normal supervision performing tasks associated with common repair of target systems at range training areas and facilities to include replacing batteries, switches, cables, coil boxes, microcircuits and targets to perform simple maintenance tasks to repair targetry, fabricate targets, repair range and associated support equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires inspection of field sites, necessitating walking, standing and climbing. Incumbent must be able to pick up and carry 45 pound and up to 75 lbs. with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in all kinds of weather in an outdoor environment; however, some work is performed in an office environment. Some work is performed at range sites where the exposures to hazardous materials or instruments exist. Work requires frequent exposure to foul weather conditions
