About the Position: This is a Facility Operation Specialist position at the 436TH MDG located in Dover, Delaware. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
Major duties
Coordinate work requirements to maintain patient care buildings. Oversee facility management resources including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, space utilization, and information resources. Implement a systematic processes that identifies and eliminates safety hazards to patients, staff, and visitors. Attend staff meetings to discuss accomplishing facility work. Perform diagnostic inspection of facility structures, electrical and mechanical systems and equipment. Prepare inspection reports and narrative assessments of facility conditions.

Basic Requirements for Facility Operations Specialist: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing maintenance, repair, or construction work of facilities or grounds; maintaining maintenance records; and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
