Major duties
Position Description # D2968000 POSITION DUTIES: This position is located in the Air National Guard (ANG) Security Forces Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Senior Security Officer (Squadron Commander) over the Security Forces Squadron and all aspects of Integrated Defense, Law Enforcement, Air Base Ground Defense, Force Protection, and Anti-Terrorism as the Defense Force Commander (DFC) and AntiTerrorism Officer (ATO). The incumbent of this position must be assigned as the Drill Status Commander. MAJOR DUTIES: 1. Exercises direct supervisory and personnel management responsibilities. Provides supervisory responsibility for subordinate security force squadron personnel to include Active Guard Reserve(AGR) military personnel, Federal Technicians, Security Cooperative Agreement (SCA) employees, and Drill Status Guardsman (DSG) to meet all Integrated Defense, LE and AT/FP requirements for the installation. 2. Directs, plans, organizes, and oversees all Integrated Defense (ID) and Law Enforcement (LE) activities within an Air National Guard Wing as the Defense Force Commander (DFC). Reports directly to the Wing Commander for immediate threat responses and to the Mission Support Group Commander for routine matters. 3. Directs, plans, organizes, and oversees all Anti-Terrorism (AT) and Force Protection (FP) activities within an Air National Guard Wing as the Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO). When functioning as the ATO, reports directly to the Wing Commander and exercises broad delegated authority to independently manage the AT/FP program. 4. Directs assessments of complex internal and external factors for effect to the organization and assigned missions. Conducts formal and informal assessments to determine criticality of organizational functions, identify vulnerabilities, assess internal and external threats, and calculate associated risk to wing mission(s) and personnel. Determines Wing Commander risk acceptance threshold. 5. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Leads, manages, and directs Security Forces activities concerning installations, weapon systems, and resources security; anti-terrorism; law enforcement and investigations; integrated defense; armament and equipment; training pass and registration; information, personnel, industrial security; and combat arms. The organizational location of this position is in the ARNG (Plans, Operations, and Training Office) and ANG Security Forces units. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify, must have experience in formulating and implementing the Wing's information protection functions and activities. Experienced in managing the program's plans, processes, and policies. Experiences include establishing and adjusting short and long term priorities. Competent in establishing metric and analysis systems to assess the program's efficiencies and effectiveness. Experiences include work that involved anticipating and planning for unexpected changes in system designs, equipment developments, or comparable aspects of various equivalent projects. Experienced in evaluating requirements for additional resources and balancing organizational needs with mission requirements and resource interests. Capable of identifying the program's needs and priority changes and experienced in executing those changes as required with full control and monitoring skills. Experiences included establishing review systems and procedures that ensured governmental information protection requirements were validated, enforced, monitored, and maintained. Skilled in economically operating the Information Protection program to identify areas, activities, and tasks that need revisions and improvements. Experienced in administrating guides and developed procedures that ensured the Wing's Information Protection Staff employees and Security specialists executed converged, multi-disciplined, and risk-based approaches to address assessments and self-disciplined reviews for Air Force supported and supporting missions and operations. Competent and very capable in presenting briefs to senior leaders on Information Protection program's business accomplishments, forecasted events, goals, objectives, and areas of concern. Competent and very capable to read and write reports concerning the program's business accomplishments, forecasted events, goals, objectives, and areas of concern. Competent in presenting facts, written or orally, to defend and/or applaud the Wing, Major Command, and Air Force programs' progress, priorities, interests, and discoveries. Experienced in establishing a resource program that provided comprehensive information to the Wing Commander, Major Commands, and Air Force to support and address program cycle input. Experiences include addressing questions concerning the allocation of resources and program work requirements that obtained necessary resources to affect Information Protection programs in the Wing. Competence levels ensured Information Protection program requirements were considered and included in new or revised operational, technical, or administrative Wing programs, facility structures, or equipment changes. Experiences included a wide-range of activities and responsibilities in monitoring and protecting Wing specific programs.
