Supv Forensic Data Analyst
What you'd do
Supervisors make decisions that impact the resources (people, budget, and material) of the work unit, ensure the technical quality and timeliness of the work produced by employees in the unit, and collaborate with supervisors across the organization in unstructured situations. Supervisors must supervise at least one government employee; they typically supervise between three to fifteen employees.
Major duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a supervisory position in the OIG Management and Resources Division, reporting to the Assistant Inspector General for Management and Resources. The incumbent supervises a team of forensic data analysts responsible for OIG fraud analytics, business analytics, IT support to OIG, and the OIG corporate management system. Proactive fraud analytic projects include identifying potential violations of law and recognizing latent trends that lead to fraud detection using data science and analytic tools and capabilities. Results are provided to the separate OIG investigation, audit, and evaluation divisions through data analytics models with dashboard views. Business analytics projects include using statistical research methods and exploiting various software products and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze historical data to gain new insight and improve strategic decision-making within OIG. Meaningful results derived from the analysis are portrayed through dynamic information graphics accurately depicting the story and allowing the decision-maker to easily understand what the data is telling them. The OIG Supervisory Forensic Data Analyst is also responsible for leading the collaboration with the other NGA OIG divisions to improve data collection, loading, validation and reconciliation, analysis, and reporting. They lead the preparation of reports and briefings that provide a sound basis for the restitution and recovery of NGA funds and oversee the collaboration with division experts to develop metrics that drive process improvements. They are also responsible for maintaining a corporate management tool housing OIG data and ensuring data integrity.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Experience with analytic abilities in fraud analytics, business analytics, and metrics. 4. Experience cultivating professional networks of peers internal and external to an organization to work collaboratively and accomplish shared goals. 5. Experience in creating and maintaining databases and data management software. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Mathematics, Police Science, Statistics, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Software experience in Tableau, Python, SQL, advanced Excel, Power Shell, Power Script, and/or AI computing. 2. Possess an active professional certification in fraud examination, such as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or an equivalent accredited professional credential. 3. Knowledge of implementing and using AI to enhance workflows, processes, and/or procedures. 4. Knowledge of CIGIE policies and standards, or experience working in an Inspector General office. 5. Possess an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or an equivalent accredited project management credential.
