What you'd do

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NSE - All-American Restaurant.

Major duties

Assists management team in overseeing food business operations. Ensures efficient operation in accordance with regulations and procedures. Coordinates with Manager to schedule employees to ensure adequate manning for routine operations. Inspects facilities and employees on proper work clothing and cleanliness. Performs monthly inventories. Supports the Manager in the oversight of the night operations and provides instructions and guidance to staff members. Promotes good patron relationships and enhanced image of the facility. Works with the facility staff for a faster service and smooth operation. Maintaining accurate accounts and records. Prepares a report of all significant occurrences/incidents during shift (e.g. personnel/staffing problems, equipment breakdown or repair). Ensures that a thorough and comprehensive safety program is enforced. Identifies and resolves problems that may arise. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you need to qualify

A minimum of one (1) year experience which provides knowledge of club, restaurant, business operations, or equivalent leadership experience. Experience is required in an office environment with progressive responsibilities or related education. Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulations, policies, principles, and procedures. Must have ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to provide work direction to other employees. Must have ability to use initiative, discretion, and independent judgment in making decisions. Must be people-orientated and have an excellent sense of customer relations. Must possess a courteous, tactful and diplomatic demeanor. Skill in computer data entry is desired and must have knowledge of software applications such as but not limited to Word and Excel.
